The Battlegrounds Collects Muddy Race Shoes to Benefit The Mission Continues
Seventh bi-annual St. Louis race collects 413 pairs of muddy shoes.
St. Louis, MO, October 17, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The Battlegrounds, St. Louis’ only permanent mud run obstacle course, recently held its seventh bi-annual race and collected muddy race shoes to benefit The Mission Continues.
The Battlegrounds worked with Funds2Orgs.com to collect and donate racer’s shoes to those in developing nations with proceeds benefitting The Mission Continues. The race collected 413 pairs of shoes for the organization.
The Mission Continues is a national non-profit organization based in St. Louis that deploys military veterans into community service leadership roles at home. Its fellowship program involves post-911 veterans serving 20 hours a week for six months at a non-profit of their choice while completing a professional development curriculum. Its service platoon program has teams of veterans of all generations working alongside active duty, guard/reservists and non-veterans in communities to find solutions and make an impact on local challenges.
”Our races are extremely well received by our runners because they know we give back to our community,” said The Battlegrounds’ owner Carl Bolm. “Everyone is willing to support those that need our help, and we’re proud to be a part of the giving process.”
The Battlegrounds is located at 11008 Schreckengast Rd. in Wright City, Mo. next to Cedar Lake Cellars winery and event center. For more information, call Bob Holm at (314) 569-3005 ext. 114.
