SureFire CPR Announces Winners from the #MyLocalHero Contest
Orange, CA, December 22, 2015 --(PR.com)-- SureFire CPR, a CPR and First Aid training facility with locations in Orange County, Laguna Hills, and Corona, announces the winners of their #MyLocalHero contest. The campaign was announced earlier this October and ran from October 1st through December 7th, 2015. Citizens living in Southern California were encouraged to nominate community members who put others before themselves. The contest aimed to highlight these local heroes and heroines and to inspire other members to make a positive difference in their communities.
Each of the winners of the #MyLocalHero contest has gone above and beyond to be better versions of themselves and have made a difference in other’s lives. With an overwhelming amount of responses and with so many deserving nominees, SureFire CPR decided to award two 1st place winners and a 3rd place winner.
This year’s local hero’s are:
· 1st Place Winner: Tauna La Pierre of Aliso Viejo was awarded $600 for taking action during an emergency in her classroom when one of her 2nd-grade students was choking. The student recovered and suffered no health complications thanks to the swift actions of LaPierre. The student’s family nominated her for her courageous act.
· 1st Place Winner: Kelsie Hill from Irvine was also given the 1st place award of $600. She was nominated by her friend who wanted to acknowledge Kelsie for all that she does on a daily basis. She has 3 children, and one is disabled and her positive attitude and dedication to her family has inspired her community. She also was trained as a Community Emergency Response Team member in Irvine and is ready to help if her community needs it.
· 3rd Place Winner: Tommy Garcia from San Juan Capistrano was nominated for his love for helping those less able than he, and was awarded $100 for his community service and kindness. Garcia frequently visits with the elderly in his community, and every year, he loves being a Secret Santa to give back in a heartwarming way.
The #MyLocalHero campaign set out to bring awareness of the selfless acts occurring in local communities every day and to inspire others to make a difference in the lives of their fellow community members. The winners of the contest are great role models of this cause, and hopefully, will encourage others to do what they can to show compassion, support, and goodwill towards others.
