Total Fitness Clubs Raised $59,800 for the American Cancer Society's Pedal To End Cancer™
Total Fitness Clubs hosted the American Cancer Society's Pedal To End Cancer™ event, for the ninth year and ranked as highest fundraising team in New England by raising $59,800.
Bristol, RI, June 10, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Total Fitness Clubs (TFC), today announced the results of their team’s participation in the 2016 American Cancer Society’s annual Pedal To End Cancer™ (formerly Spin For Hope™). This year in addition to the 85 Total Fitness Spinners having raised $59,800, Total Fitness Clubs was the top fundraising team in New England and team member Andrea Alexander ranked as the individual highest fund raiser since the American Cancer Society started hosting indoor cycling fundraising events in 2005.
Pedal To End Cancer™ (formerly Spin For Hope™) is a three hour indoor cycling fundraising event to benefit cancer research, education, advocacy, and services. Participants can spin as a one-person team, for all three hours, or form a team and split up the time. All funds raised support the American Cancer Society and its mission to eliminate cancer as a major public health threat.
"The American Cancer Society values its longstanding relationship with Total Fitness Clubs and applauds its effort and the tremendous success of this year’s Pedal To End Cancer™ fundraising event," said Katy DiMare, Senior Manager, Community Events at the American Cancer Society.
"We’d like to thank all those who participated and let them know the funds they raised absolutely will benefit cancer patients in need of any of the services the Society provides – from 24-hour expert advice to rides to-and-from treatment to free lodging for cancer patients and their caregivers. The participants’ support will have far-reaching effect."
"This has been a record-breaking year for TFC for both participation and fundraising for the American Cancer Society and Total Fitness would like to extend our appreciation and gratitude to all the participants who contributed to the success of this great cause," said Laura Jenkins, Total Fitness Clubs. "We’re especially proud of Total Fitness Member Andrea Alexander - who in addition to being the top Pedal to End Cancer fundraiser in all of New England she is the top highest fundraiser since the event’s inception in 2005."
