Happy Fix Chief Happbassador Stacy Menzies Completes UC Berkeley Course on Science of Happiness
Continuing Education Provides Cutting-Edge Resources and Strategy to Share on Creating a Happier Life
Apex, NC, July 08, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Happy Fix® (www.happyfix.com), giving people the knowledge and nudges to live a happier life, is pleased to announce that Chief Happbassador Stacy Menzies has successfully completed “The Science of Happiness” taught through UC Berkeley.
The eight-week course teaches the ground-breaking science of positive psychology, exploring the roots of a happy and meaningful life and practical strategies for tapping into and nurturing one’s own happiness.
“I’m excited to add what I’ve learned to the individual and corporate wellness programming we offer through Happy Fix to help people reap the mental and physical health benefits of positive living,” Menzies said.
This past spring Menzies debuted Happy Fix’s wellness programs by leading the workshop “Build Your Happiness Toolkit” at the Apex Community Center. The one-hour session introduced participants to a variety of resources, tools, and exercises proven to help people increase happiness and contentment.
Build Your Happiness Toolkit is one of several Happy Fix programs geared toward individuals looking for information and practical ways to create their happiest lives, as well as businesses and organizations looking to build exceptional workplace environments. Other workshops currently available include Building an Attitude of Gratitude, Creating Miracles with Your Mindset, Take this Job and Love It! and Restoring Resilience. Most programs come in 30/60/90 minute packages, with select workshops available for half-day extended sessions.
Substantive material from The Science of Happiness that Menzies is incorporating into her Happy Fix programming centers around the positive psychology concept that happiness is inextricably linked to having strong social connections and contributing to something bigger than yourself—the greater good.
“Being a part of the greater good helps us as individuals, and also helps us within team structures in businesses and nonprofit organizations,” Menzies explained.
Created by UC Berkeley’s Greater Good Science Center, the course spanned the fields of psychology, neuroscience, evolutionary biology and beyond, including research-backed activities to foster social and emotional well-being. It was co-taught by authorities on positive psychology UC Berkeley psychology professor Dacher Keltner and Emiliana Simon-Thomas, Science Director, Greater Good Science Center, in addition to other world-renowned experts such as Barbara Fredrickson, Paul Ekman, Sonja Lyubomirsky, and Jon Kabat-Zinn.
The Happy Fix wellness programming is just one resource the company is sharing with people interested in improving their lives and the lives of those around them. Ongoing social media outreach, educational and inspiring blog posts, and happiness “Nudges” such as fun apparel and accessories are other tools Happy Fix is using to grow its ranks of Happbassadors (Happiness Ambassadors) who use positive thinking and focused action to share the company’s message that happy feels good.
