New Personal Training Services in Speed and Agility Offered in Des Moines
Des Moines, IA, January 31, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The Body Project, Inc. will move its personal training studio to The Orange Planet in the spring of 2008. In addition to moving its current Beaverdale location to Pleasant Hill, Iowa, The Body Project will also expand its services to include speed and agility training for athletes of all ages and abilities. The Orange Planet is a 30,000 square foot basketball and fitness club with regulation wood courts and 6,500 square feet of weights and cardiovascular equipment.
The Body Project is owned and operated by Tim and Mandy Ives of Des Moines, Iowa. Tim is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise, and a USA Track and Field Level I certified coach. Tim holds his B.A. in Exercise Science and has trained well over 200 clients. An avid distance runner and coach, Tim has completed a 2:42 marathon. He is a former high school basketball player and collegiate cross country and track athlete, in which he was a 2-time qualifier for the NAIA National Track and Field Championships in the marathon. Mandy maintains a part-time client base in addition to her role as mother and homemaker. She also competes in the marathon and enjoys gourmet cooking.
In addition to providing services in speed and agility, The Body Project also offers programs for weight loss, nutrition, cardiovascular fitness, strength training, flexibility, and coaching for distance runners and triathletes. The stated purpose of The Body Project is to elevate a client’s satisfaction in life by improving their health, appearance, and athleticism. A personal trainer at The Body Project meets with one-on-one clients twice a week. The time spent during each session includes a combination of strength training, stretching, aerobic exercise, and nutrition counseling. Group training is also available for athletes in speed and agility. During these sessions, athletes can expect sport-specific instruction and training in sprinting, jumping, braking, changing direction, and acceleration.
Tim will take the role as Director of Wellness and Training at The Orange Planet upon its opening in 2008. “Mandy and I are very excited about the opportunity our company and our clients will have within the walls of The Orange Planet,” said Ives.
