Time Magazine & CNN Reports that Smoking Will Kill a Billion People; Long Island's Best Hypnotist Roch Preite vows to make a dent in the Body Count

According to estimates released by the World Health Organization, if current trends continue, smoking and the effects of tobacco use world wide will claim the lives of a billion people by the end of the century. The current death toll per year world wide is already 5.4 million and by 2030 that is expected to rise to 8 million people per year. That’s the equivalent of one death that can be attributed to smoking and tobacco use every six seconds. Statistically, lower income households are more likely to be effected by this epidemic than wealthier households. Also interesting is the fact that, world wide, more women are starting to smoke now than men are. Men more likely to use tobacco than women are, but the trend is now that fewer men are starting to smoke at all. Therefore the numbers between them is beginning to even out. Most the most alarming trend of all is that the age at which tobacco use is starting is becoming much younger.
