Wellness Comes at No Cost; the Alternative Comes at a Higher Cost

Learn UTOPIA and the Traditional Shotokan Karate-Do Institute are pleased to offer women of their NJ community a free wellness workshop. The workshop will introduce women to new and simple techniques to help improve their health and well being. The workshop will be held at 1737-39 Springfield Avenue, in Maplewood, NJ for 4 Saturdays – July 19 & 26 and August 2 & 9, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Maplewood, NJ, July 09, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Learn UTOPIA will teach women a new brand of exercise—Chogilates™. Chogilates (pronounced Cho-gi-lah-teez) is a combination of yoga and pilates for the Christian soul. This exercise class is enjoyable because of its uplifting instructor, background gospel music, and subtle reminders of relevant Biblical scriptures. Chogilates is a great workout for the Summer and any other season, because it is low impact and easy to do by most students. With this workout, it doesn’t matter if you are thin or thick, or young or mature. Pamela D. Smith (Chogilates instructor), says, “You’re never too old to learn wellness and Chogilates makes it easy for anyone to be active.”

The Traditional Shotokan Karate-Do Institute (TSKI) will teach women simple and effective Self-Preservation techniques through Shotokan-style karate. In our society, women are sometimes deemed as the weaker species and that is not necessarily true. TSKI strives to teach women how to heighten their awareness in their day to day life. Students will also learn how to protect themselves against today’s aggressors. Like Chogilates, these TSKI Self-Preservation techniques can be learned by anyone, they welcome atypical students. “We tailor our lessons to each student,” explains Kyoshi Lonnie Jones (self-preservation instructor).

With Chogilates and Self-Preservation techniques, women can improve their posture, flexibility, strength, balance, and self confidence. Students only need to wear comfy clothes and sneakers and come with an open mind. If you haven’t exercised in a while or if you have existing medical conditions, students should consult with their doctors prior to class.

“Not many things in life are free, and unhealthiness does come with a price. Don’t miss out on this gratis opportunity.”

If you are seeking new ways to improve your health and well being, mark 1 or all 4 workshop sessions (7/19, 7/26, 8/2 and 8/9) on your calendar. Saturday mornings (9 to 10 a.m.) will be a healthy and fun way to start your day.
