Sleep Study Suggests Magnetic Sleep Machine Promotes Deeper Sleep and Reduces Fibromyalgia Pain

Through an undetermined mechanism study subject’s preexisting fibromyalgia pain was reduced 80-90% after just one 8 hour nighttime exposure.
This female subject went to bed in midst of a fibromyalgia “flair-up” in neck and shoulders for the 7 days leading up to the somnogram. She had been diagnosed with fibromyalgia 2 years prior using the standardized rheumatology 12 point fibromyalgia screening test. Subject reported a pain level of 8 in neck and shoulders prior to fitting of EEG sensors and disclosed pain is most evident in morning upon waking.
Because the magnetic signals created interference to sensitive EEG equipment, the signal was interrupted at 30-90 minute intervals for 1-5 minute epochs so that a ‘clean’ reading could be taken by the somnography equipment. Each time the Delta rhythm signal to the magnetic inductor was interrupted, EEG revealed Delta rhythm / slow-wave sleep. There was one rapid eye movement (REM) stage epoch during this nighttime period.
Subject woke 8 hours later at the conclusion of the sleep program’s wake up sequence, reporting she had slept “remarkably well” throughout the night and that her pain level was 0-1. She reported little pain throughout the following day at work and reduced pain levels were evident for 6 days.
